It's out!

My second book Dumpster Dying is here.

Emily Rhodes came to rural Florida for the cowboys, the cattle, and to do a little country two-step, not to fall head first onto a dead body in a dumpster.

Ah, the golden years of retirement in the sunshine state. They’re more like pot metal to Emily, who discovers the body of the county’s wealthiest rancher in the Big Lake Country Club dumpster. With her close friend accused of the murder, Emily sets aside her grief at her life partner’s death to find the real killer. She underestimates the obstacles rural Florida can set up for a winter visitor and runs afoul of a local judge with his own version of justice, hires a lawyer who works out of a retirement home, and flees wild fires hand-in-hand with the man she believes to be the killer.

  1. Congratulations on the new book!

As to your email question, Leslie, I'm at a loss as to how to combine New England beer with Florida dumpsters! But a link for buying the book would be a good thing!

  2. I'd love to see a link for purchasing the book, as well, or bookstores that carry it. As far as a combined blog is concerned, you name lends itself to a great blog name..."What a Diehl",
"The Latest Diehl", "The Diehl of the Year" (provided, of course, that you publish a book every year), "Diehling with Lesley", "A Book Diehl Not to be Missed". Anyhow, you get the point.

Looking forward to your latest. Congratulations!

  4. I have a question for you. Preditors and Editors does not recommend Oak Tree Press, yet so many books are coming from there. Are you happy with them? They'd like to see one of my books, but I'm hesitant. Could you tell me more?

  6. We at Oak Tree are VERY happy to have Lesley as one of our new authors. She was one of my "finds" as the new acquisitions editor. Love the cover design.
As for the P&E rating, that seems to haunt our small press. It only takes one irate author to put in a bad word, an act of God to take it out. Author Mike Orenduff just took home the Lefty from Left Coast Crime and we see more awards in our future. We've got a goal to put out three titles a month and just got titles in e-book format. I'd say anyone who wants aboard will find smooth sailing.

  7. Hi:

I reviewed your book which was recommended to me by Oak Tree Press. It was delightful and a good mystery which took place in an area which I have visited many times with my wife.

I see there was a comment which was negative about them. As both a reviewer and author I have to say they are the finest group of people in the publishing world around. They take the time and trouble to help budding new authors bring their product to market as well as established authors.

Each time a book is recommended to me by them or the author requests a review I find the books to be first rate. They may publish a lot of books, but at the same time they are very selective in what they publish. In short, they do an excellent job!
